![]() Wasn't available until August so we had to extend out lease 3 months. Lease ended in June so we went to the dealership and opted to lease a new vehicle. Gpt that squared away, and then we leased a 2023. I returned the first lease, and the payment was still do on for that month - even though I didn't have the care anymore. Then we lease a new 2020 Kia and administratively, things started to get confusing. Here the thing: Why is there so much that the paying customer has to do to insure that these guys have the right info? Anyway, I kept good records and made copies of everything. Overall, it worked as it should and the whole process took slightly less than a month, but there were many times when I was left wondering what exactly was happening and if I was doing everything I was supposed to. I then completed a state DMV form online and sent the title and bill of sale to the DMV. I received it a couple days later along with a bill of sale (which confirmed that the purchase price included sales tax). Eleven days later they notified me that the title was being sent. I asked them in an email reply on the secured site but received no response. I wasn't sure if that meant that Kia was signing off on its title and I would have to apply for a new one with the state DMV or if they would send in the title and application to the DMV (along with the fee). The next day, Kia messaged me that it had completed the review of the lease buyout details and was working to request the leased vehicle's title. I replied with the completed mileage statement. ![]() The third asked me to send an odometer disclosure statement either by replying to the email or via fax. One confirmed that the lease buyout process had been initiated. One said that something was missing, but didn't say what. I went to the site and it had 3 messages. A week later, they contacted me via email with a link to a secured message site. I sent in the check and a printout of their buyout offer. I had ascertained that Kia's price included the residual value plus my final lease payment, state sales tax and fees, but there was no itemized list of everything, so it wasn't clear if Kia covered the cost of retitling the car. My only complaint is that communication from Kia could be greatly improved. ![]() But, I found the process to be reasonably pain-free. ABSOLUTE TOTAL DISGRACE.īefore I bought out the lease, I ran across this site and got worried about the many negative reviews. Guess what their advice was today? "I guess you could try and call back tomorrow". ZERO calls back, ZERO emails back, ZERO respect for the customer. I have called three members of the "executive" team everyday for the past 9 days and left one message per day. If I had a dollar for every time one of them said "We've sent the check", I'd have this car paid off.Īnd now, the loaner car that the insurance company provided has been taken back, leaving me without a car! Absolutely NOTHING from KIA. Let me repeat, the "executive" and "escalation" team are an absolute joke. 25 days later, my car is STILL sitting at the body shop because KIA never paid for the work. Repairs on my vehicle were done on August 3rd. but "we have no record of a check from anyone." Welp, good thing I got a copy of the cancelled check from the insurance company. Insurance company sent the check to KIA, they cashed it on June 21st. I should probably mention that my parked car got hit by garbage truck. Have an emergency and need to talk to multiple departments? LOL. but wait! That's only because it takes their computer systems 36 HOURS to sync with any comments. Then you get back with the email team and they say there is no record of you ever calling in. But wait! When you call in the service team will say "I have no idea why they told you to call me, there is nothing we can do for you here". The email service team won't accept calls, but will tell you to call in. I will never ever lease another car from KIA.ĭifferent departments have ZERO coordination, zero ability to do anything that requires teamwork, and no idea what the other is doing. From outright lies to never returning phone calls to basically laughing in my face. There is not one nice thing I can say about my recent experience with them. The "executive" and "escalation" team are an ABSOLUTE joke.
